St. Louis Private SchoolsThe Independent Schools of St. Louis (ISSL) is a non-profit professional organization of 38 elementary and secondary schools which undergo a rigorous accreditation process every seven years. Many of the schools listed here are members. The ISSL includes a mixture of non-sectarian, religious, private and boarding schools. I offer you information and links to St. Louis area public schools, parochial schools, special schools, technical & vocational schools, and colleges & universities. Campbell Montessori School - As well as academics, our students acquire useful life skills to become fully functional, capable, responsible and happy human beings. Churchill School - Churchill Center & School for Learning Disabilities offers an opportunity for high potential children with learning disabilities to develop to their full potential by providing individual and small group instruction in an accepting environment. College School - where children become involved, capable, confident and motivated young adults with a passion for life-long discovery. Community School - Community School, serving children age 3 through grade six, is conveniently located in Ladue, nestled on 16 wooded acres with playgrounds, fields and nature trails. At Community School, children enjoy learning for the fun of it and secure the skills to excel - moving from wide-eyed curiosity to accomplished confidence. Crossroads School - Crossroads School is a small independent urban school, characterized by a rich history of cultural diversity and a concentration on college preparation. John Burroughs School - John Burroughs School seeks to instill the joy of living through active learning, integrity, and service to others. Our mission is to foster in our students academic, physical and creative fulfillment, together with strength of character, while helping them become productive members of our school community. Mary Institute and Country Day School (MICDS) - Our School cherishes academic rigor, encourages and praises meaningful individual achievement, and fosters virtue. Our independent education prepares young people for higher learning and for lives of purpose and service. Miriam School - Our school, located in beautiful Webster Groves, a suburb of central St. Louis County, is a caring and nurturing environment serving students Age 4 through Grade 8 who exhibit learning disabilities, attention deficits, speech and language delays and or fine/gross motor delays. Located in Clayton, Missouri — a quiet, tree-lined, residential suburb of St. Louis — the school is housed in an historic building designed and built in 1916 by the noted architect William B. Ittner.
